General Rules for Access

 Access

•  Access to libraries that form the University Library of the UPM is linked to the university community and to any citizen who is related to that community. Access to the rooms is free although there are times with certain restrictions

•  During exam periods, for reasons of capacity, libraries can restrict access to their rooms and allow entry only to members of their own university community, although they may attend and serve all users who require it. In these times of extraordinary opening of libraries, it is essential to establish the status of user of the library UPM to enter the premises of the Library.

•  It is important that the user of the University Library is always properly credited with UPM card to make use not only of access to the facilities of the Library, but to use the many services it offers.

 Coexistence

•  You cannot reserve seats in the reading room. Library staff may remove objects that are occupying positions open when the number of users and the need for the room required. The other study rooms that can be reserved in situ but not by phone or e-mail; this requires contact the loan desk staff and make the corresponding application.

•  The use of electronic devices such as mobile phones must be responsible and prudent to avoid unnecessary inconvenience other users. Especially in the reading room and access to the library, you are advised not to use them and always keep them quiet.

•  It is also necessary to maintain a moderate level of noise that can only be achieved with the collaboration of all users. It should endeavor to maintain silence from the entrance to the library facilities avoiding loud conversations.

  Behavior

• Because of the need to maintain in perfect technical equipment and library furniture, it is only allowed to consume within its facilities open water bottled in transparent containers.

• The consumption of any other food or drink, especially those that may cause damage irreparable is strictly forbidden, especially in the reading room and study rooms.

• Library staff may withdraw these foods or drinks or ask who consumes them to leave the premises of the library.
