Syllabus | The Master in Communications Technologies and Systems is a research-oriented master. It requires the fulfillment of 60 ECTS, so that it should be completed in two semesters by a full-time student. For a part-time student it is advised to complete the master in three or four semesters. The student can start in any of both semesters. The 60 ECTS mandatorily include a Master’s Thesis of 15 ECTS and a previous work on the state of the art of the topic (5 ECTS). Courses are 5 or 7.5 ECTS. 5 ECTS courses include two weekly hours or lectures during one semester, and 7.5 ECTS courses include two weekly hours of lectures during one semester and a half. The courses can be freely chosen as long as the selection is validated by the student’s advisor. The number of ECTS credits by semester must be between 20 and 40 for full-time students and be at least 15 for part-time students. The 5 ECTS courses include Seminar of Research on Signal Processing and Audiovisual Systems and Seminar of Research on Radiocommunications and Radiofrequency Engineering. This courses are based on conferences and short courses given by invited professores with a different program every year. The Master can be followed independently or as a part of the PhD Program in Communications Technologies and Systems. To complete the PhD a researh period must be completed under the direction of a professor, resulting in a PhD thesis. It is also possible to access directly to the research period if the student has completed another research master with similar contents to those of the Master in Communications Technologies and Systems. |
