How do I know if a book is loaned or has copies available?

In the library catalog of the UPM when you locate the book you need, click on "Details" and it shows you at the end of the screen, the number of copies, the type of loan and the location (Free Access, Deposit ... ).

If borrowed, the return date appears. (Eg Dev. 11/25/2016). If it is not borrowed, its location will appear (Free Access, Deposit ..)
